On March 19, 2026, HCL released version 14.5.1 of HCL Traveler. This release is part of the overarching HCL Notes/Domino 14.5.1 update and includes new features, extended database support for high-availability operations, and various bug fixes. The following sections describe the key changes in detail.
Online Meeting Support for Verse Mobile
Traveler 14.5.1 extends server-side support for online meetings in conjunction with HCL Verse Mobile. Specifically, this includes:
- Synchronization of the list of available online meeting services with the mobile client
- Synchronization of settings for automatically linking online meetings to new calendar entries
- Ability to update online meeting data directly from the mobile client
Prerequisite: This feature requires HCL Verse Android 2026.03 (14.5.8) or higher. Support for HCL Verse iOS is planned for a future release.
Extended Database Support for High Availability
For Traveler's High Availability (HA) mode, version 14.5.1 adds support for three additional database systems:
MariaDB
- Supported from MariaDB 11.7 (Community and Enterprise Edition)
- Prerequisite: Traveler server must run on Domino 12 or higher
PostgreSQL
- Supported from PostgreSQL 17.6
- Prerequisite: Traveler server must run on Domino 12 or higher
IBM DB2 12.1 Enterprise
- Support for IBM DB2 12.1 Enterprise Database
The extended database support gives administrators more flexibility in choosing their HA infrastructure and enables the use of open-source databases as an alternative to commercial products.
Upgrade Compatibility
Traveler 14.5.1 can be used for both new installations and upgrades of existing Traveler environments. Domino servers from version 12.0.x onward are supported – a simultaneous Domino upgrade is not required.

Note: When upgrading to Domino 14.5.1, Traveler 14.5.1 (or higher) is mandatory. HCL generally recommends running Domino on the latest supported version.
Bug Fixes
Traveler 14.5.1 includes a number of bug fixes affecting the following areas, among others:
- Initial folder synchronization on certain devices
- Processing of calendar changes for recurring appointments
- Handling of location and category fields for calendar entries via Verse Android and iOS
